i've been missing. for a VERY long time. Last post was from February huh? Wonder what the hell was I doing till I'm that damn busy to update this silly blog of mine. Mystery. Seriously, I didn't exactly kept track of the dates cause they seem to fly pass without me even realising. Went to Brunei and back. Did some stupid thing after that which you DON'T need to know. Went to Taiwan and back. And here I am. Walla. Overseas Trip Brunei is kinda overrated though. The whole shenanigans about it being a killer and how high the mountain is. Somehow it was managable, eventhough I was carrying something at least 3/4 the size of myself. It was ridiculously annoying going through the jungle though, yes JUNGLE, but somehow I got used to going through it with the bulky things that I was carrying along throughout the last training exercise. Don't ask me about the R&R. I don't call it one. Difficulty rating: I give it a 2/5 R&R rating: 0/5 Taiwan, perhaps proved to be something I'd regret going throughout my whole life. The whole thing was disgustingly ridiculous, poorly planned and executed. Poor man and logistic management. Nuff said. R&R was great cause we were in the middle of Taipei city. Though the free and easy was cut to only half a day which downplayed the whole thing. Difficulty rating: 4/5 cause most of the time, it went FUBAR. R&R rating: 3/5 Language Barrier Didn't really had much interaction with the locals in Brunei. Even if I did, I think I'd still survive as they could understand simple Malay. For Taiwan on another hand, was a pain in the ass. You literally need to always have a Chinese friend along to translate things for you. So no individual stroll in the park for those non-chinese speaking fellas. The culture in Brunei is relatively rural. On the most, even their city standards is only developed up to the standards of the old HDB flats in Singapore. Didn't see much of a fashion trend tho. Surprisingly, I practically didn't see ANY teenagers there at all. Weird. Taiwan was not really a culture shock to us. Maybe just the roads. They travel on the right side instead of left. The fashion trends there are just like Singapore's. Not exactly fashion forward.. guess the trends here ties very closely to the ones there. The food, can't say much cause we can't eat much there anyway. And no I did NOT go the clubs there, even after much pester. And the hotels were great. Heh. So all in all, I'm left with 4 more months before leaving the force and back to civilian life. A couple more of things to be done, and I'm done. With everything. arfandi used up his time at 12:41 AM
